March 29, 2024 - Mayoral debate: Stuart Tettemer vs. Mark Sheldon. Panama City Beach election is April 16.
March 28, 2024 - Today, I addressed PCB Mayor Mark "Money Mover" Sheldon.
Voters in Panama City Beach can get rid of Sheldon next month by voting for Stuart Tettemer for PCB Mayor on or before April 16.
Over the past four years as mayor, Sheldon has done the following:
1. Benefitted himself as the owner of Gulf Coast Jam. A tremendous conflict of interest!
2. Moved Gulf Coast Jam to the summer, which overcrowds tourism season causing insufferable traffic and strains on infrastructure.
3. Has begun the process to DISCHARGE POLLUTED STORMWATER into the Gulf through gigantic pipes that will be placed 30 feet under the Gulf rock bed extending 1,500 feet about a half-mile west of the City Pier.
4. Has prioritized walkover bridge from Aaron Bessant Park to Frank Brown Park that will cost more than $10 million to benefit his customers during Gulf Coast Jam.
5. Has approved millions of dollars to consultants who continue to give bad advice leading to constant construction projects scattered throughout the City. He wants to begin several more before these are even completed.
6. Is planning to ban cars from driving on Front Beach Road's scenic drive in order to bring busses and build paid parking lots.
7. Has led the charge to destroy Lullwater Lake (a rare coastal dune lake owned by the owners of the subdivision). The City is diverting stormwater to Lullwater Lake, turning it into a retention pond from which they'll discharge polluted stormwater into the Gulf.
8. Has displayed condescending pomposity toward residents as he dismisses their public comments without answers.
9. Has prevented videos of the City Council meetings from being posted on the City's website since he took office in 2020 through December of 2021.
10. Received a sweeping FBI subpoena on Aug. 28, 2020 for public corruption.
March 27, 2024 - Former Lynn Haven Mayor Margo Anderson begins lawsuits against Sheriff Tommy Ford and the City of Lynn Haven.
March 27, 2024 - Judge Kelvin C. Wells was very sleepy during the trial of attorney Hoot Crawford during those times that he wasn't texting and scrolling through Facebook.
Even during the most sensitive witness testimony, Judge Wells was counting sheep.
Crawford was the Marsey's Law attorney for a teenage girl who was being harassed by Sheriff Tommy Ford's investigators. Under Marsey's Law, she had the right to attorney and she had invoked that right.
But Sheriff Ford's investigators arrested Crawford and took her into custody. Then they interrogated her four separate times without an attorney.
They demanded to know what she and her attorney had talked about.
State Attorney Larry Basford used that communication as evidence to prosecute Crawford for interfering with child custody, and for tampering with a witness/victim.
Judge Wells said there was a hearsay exception to the attorney-client privilege.
The jury was not allowed to consider whether or not DCF's emergency shelter order was lawful or not. It would only be lawful if she was in imminent danger, but she was at the Children's Advocacy Center for a voluntary interview with her parents and her attorney.
She couldn't have been any safer when DCF told a local judge that they took her into custody because she was in observable imminent danger.
But Judge Wells wouldn't let the jury hear those facts (which was Crawford's absolute defense), and so he was convicted on Jan. 30.
That would be like being arrested for probable cause not being able to challenge the validity of the probable cause.
Judge Wells is scheduled to sentence Crawford next month.
Meanwhile the girl was stripped of her right to an attorney by Sheriff Ford, DCF, State Attorney Larry Basford, and Judge Wells.
The teenage girl was forced to submit to Sheriff Ford's male investigators and undergo humiliating questions without legal representation.
In a tragic twist of fate, the right to an attorney was born right here in Panama City by virtue of the U.S. Supreme Court's unanimous landmark decision (Gideon v. Wainwright, 1963).
Historically, it's usually your own people who screw you over the worst.
March 26, 2024 - The Bay County Republican Party of Florida has endorsed Stuart Tettemer for Panama City Beach Mayor.
Mayor Mark “Money Mover” Sheldon is not happy. His crony corporate projects and conflicts of interest are at risk.
Stuart wants to prioritize local interests over corporate interests.
Big opportunity for Beach residents to take back the town, protect the Gulf, and slow down hyper over-development.
March 26, 2024 - Testimony from the Hoot Crawford trial that shows the the case was fraudulent.
Sheriff Tommy Ford's investigators arrested a teenage girl's Marsey's Law attorney because they pretended that she was in danger of being molested by her older brother from another state.
That was the entire reason they told a judge she was in imminent danger at the Children's Advocacy Center with two investigators, her parents, her attorney, DCF, and others.
Sheriff Ford's investigators accused Hoot Crawford of not really representing the girl in her best interest. Lt. Mathis accused him of trying to keep her brother from "being charged."
But under oath during the trial, Lt. Jeremy Mathis was asked if he was afraid that the brother was going to hurt the girl.
He said no. No?!
And Investigator Trey Fondren called DCF and claimed to see the brother enter the premises. But Fondren had no idea what the brother looked like. He didn't investigate at all.
He didn't even knock on the door or anything. He just called DCF to reopen the case for a third time. Investigator Fondren was determined to interrogate the teenage girl without her attorney.
The entire pretext was false.
