Jan. 17, 2025 - Bad day for Jake Tapper and Alex Marquardt as they cost CNN millions for defaming Navy veteran Zachary Young in 2021.
The Bay County jury awarded $5 million for lost wages and emotional damages PLUS an unknown settlement amount for punitive damages.
CNN agreed to a settlement before the jury could issue the verdict amount for punitive damages.
Zachary Young's company was hired by Bloombert, Audible, and NGOs to rescue desperate Afghans from the Taliban after the horrific U.S. withdrawal.
Instead of reporting good news, CNN accused Zachary Young of exploiting desperate Afghans and operating a black market enterprise.
Since WMBB and WJHG are CNN affiliates that published the lie that caused damage to his reputation, Zachary Young chose Bay County as the venue for jurisdiction.
Jan. 17, 2025 - Look how WMBB is reporting Zachary Young's defamation victory today against CNN.
That might be because WMBB is a local CNN affiliate. WMBB is regurgitating CNN's defense attorneys rather than reporting the truth.
WMBB's Courtney Fegley has been sitting in the courtroom just about the entire time. They know what's going on. I doubt WMBB management will allow her to report accurately.
This is yet another example of how WMBB hurts our community (and military veterans) because they are a propaganda outlet masquerading as news.
WMBB doesn't serve its viewers. They're nothing but PR for their government "public-private partners," big corporations, and their corporate sponsors
This is exactly why the latest Gallop Poll shows that TV is the least trusted institution in America. Right below Congress.
WMBB is disgusting.
Jan. 15, 2025 - Watch local Judge William Henry BLAST CNN attorneys in Bay County Courthouse
Jan. 15, 2025 - BREAKING: Judge blasts CNN lawyer in Zachary Young's $1 Billion defamation lawsuit.
Florida Judge William Henry excoriated attorney David Axelrod for repeatedly calling Zachary Young a liar, misleading the Court, and accusing the plaintiff of violating discovery rules.
"I take that as a complete insult against me and the Court in this case."
Judge Henry has imposed a $1,000 fine each time a lawyer insults the other side.
"We're not gonna play shenanigans anymore in this case."
Now CNN is calling witnesses in the Bay County courthouse, located in Florida's 14th Judicial Circuit.
